Draft Donegal Development Plan Published; Sligo Plan Also Progressing

Donegal County Council has prepared a Draft County Donegal Development Plan 2018-2024 and submissions can now be made on the draft plan up to 31st July 2017.

The purpose of the Draft Plan is to set out a land use planning policy framework to guide the way in which County Donegal will be developed into the future and, when adopted, will be a material consideration in making decisions on planning applications. It is the first consolidated plan for the entire functional area of Donegal County Council, including the former Town Council areas of Letterkenny, Buncrana and Bundoran.

The Draft Sligo County Development Plan for 2017-2023 has also progressed to the Proposed Amendments stage. The Draft Development Plan and the second report of the Council’s Chief Executive’s on submissions and observations relating to the Draft Plan and associated documents, were considered by the elected members of Sligo County Council. The elected members determined that the Draft Plan should be amended and that the proposed amendments would, if made, be a material alteration of the Draft Plan.
