Keville O’Sullivan Ltd. is a Galway-based planning and environmental
consultancy providing services to the private and public sectors. The company
provides an extensive range of specialist services in the fields of
environmental impact assessment, planning, ecology, and environmental
management.
The company is
seeking to recruit an Assistant Planner to join its Planning team and help meet
the continued strong demand for the company’s services. The successful
candidate will be working delivering projects requiring planning inputs in a
wide range of sectors including urban and rural development, renewable energy,
infrastructure. Typical workload might include planning appraisal of
sites/lands, supporting documentation for planning applications, appeal
statements, inputs into EIS Chapters, planning history reviews, development
plan submissions.
The
successful candidate would be expected to:
- Work as part of the Planning team to deliver
project requirements
- Manage small/medium scale planning projects,
including from inception to completion.
- Have a good working knowledge of the Irish
planning system, and the interaction of relevant planning and environmental
legislation, both national and European.
- Capable of preparing a project contents largely on own initiative
after initial briefing.
The key
responsibilities associated with the role will include:
- Preparing, compiling and project managing small/medium
planning projects within the Planning team and planning inputs to other
specialist teams in the company;
- Undertaking background research, desk studies,
field visits and preparing planning assessments, reports and project planning
inputs;
- Efficient interaction with project team
members and sub-consultants;
- Engaging with relevant authorities and
stakeholders in planning projects;
- Delivering fit for purpose project outputs
within set deadlines;
Prospective
candidates will be expected to have good report writing skills, be well
organised with meticulous attention to detail while also being able to manage a
varied and full workload. The candidate should thrive in a busy work
environment and on delivering to required project deadlines.
The successful
candidates will have a minimum of one year post-graduate planning experience.
