Catchments.ie is a brand new website that will share science and stories about Ireland's 46 catchments, 583 subcatchments and 4829 waterbodies. The website has been developed and is maintained by the Environmental Protection Agency, and is a collaboration between the Department of Environment, Community and Local Government, the Environmental Protection Agency, and the Local Authority Waters and Communities Office.
The website is providing an opportunity for everybody to become involved in catchment management and provides a central location to learn about your catchment with Data, Resources, Stories and articles. The EPA Catchments Unit is contributing to the website and that team is involved with catchment science, chemistry, ecology, hydromorphology, modelling, Geographic Information Systems and planning. They work with the wider EPA, all of the local authorities and their Waters and Communities office, the Department of Environment, Community and Local Government, and other public bodies and Departments to ensure we have the best available data and information about our catchments.
