 Mark Whittaker joined McCarthy Keville O’Sullivan as a Senior Project Planner in April 2008. Mark graduated with a B.Sc. (Hons) Degree in Town Planning in 1990 and began his career as a planner in local authority planning departments in Glasgow. In 2000 Mark came to Ireland to take up an Executive Planner post in Galway City Council, where he also acted as Senior Executive Planner in Development Control. After 14 years experience in the public sector in all aspects of planning, including Strategic Planning, Development Plans, project implementation and development management, Mark became a Consultant Planner for a development company based in the west of Ireland in 2004. This work included project managing planning proposals from preliminary design stage to construction for a number of major residential and commercial planning applications. Since joining McCarthy Keville O’Sullivan, Mark has continued to lead a number of significant planning projects, most notably the preparation of two Local Area Plans, a Council Retail Strategy and planning framework documents. In addition, Mark continues to project manage planning applications, including  complex and significant development proposals.
