Qualifications: Master of Science in Urban and Rural Design 2013 Queens University, Belfast; Bachelor of Arts in Heritage Studies 2012 Galway-Mayo Institute of Technology (GMIT)

Alan Bannon is an Assistant Planner with 3 years professional experience. He graduated from Queens University, Belfast in 2013, gaining a Masters Degree in Urban and Rural Design. While completing his Masters in Queens University Belfast, Alan volunteered with Community Places, a planning advice company, and worked on projects such as the Casement Park Stadium re-development. He also works as an environmental planning blogger in his spare time writing about planning issues in Galway City and County.

Alan has extensive experience working on a number of large-scale planning projects including mixed use, commercial and residential schemes, with specific expertise in planning application preparation, community engagement and project management.

Alan's areas of expertise are:

  • Medium scale residential and  mixed use developments;
  • Development potential reporting;
  • Submissions to development area plans;
  • Planning input into Environmental Impact Assessments;
  • Planning Research & Analysis
